VATICAN CITY, FEB 2, 1999 (VIS) - The Holy Father's general prayer intention for February is: "That the weakest among us, especially those suffering from terminal illness, be safeguarded from the threat of euthanasia and assisted suicide."

His missionary intention is: "That the Church in Vietnam may have complete religious freedom and the Pastors needed to carry out her mission."
