AUDIENCES

VATICAN CITY, JAN 4, 2002 (VIS) - The Holy Father today received in separate audiences:

- Archbishop Renato Martino, Holy See permanent observer to the United Nations in New York.
- Bishop Richard Garrard, director of the Anglican Center in Rome, accompanied by his wife.
- Philippe Capelle, president of the world conference of Catholic university institutions of philosophy.
- Archbishop John Patrick Foley, president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, accompanied by Bishop Pierfranco Pastore and Angelo Scelzo, respectively secretary and under-secretary of the same pontifical council.
