VATICAN CITY, SEP 2, 2003 (VIS) - Following is a chronological presentation of Holy See-related activities during the month of August, according to information provided by the various dicasteries:
- 9: Communique from the "Populorum Progressio" Foundation on their administration's annual board meeting which took place July 8-12 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Of the 259 projects examined, the Council approved 221, for a total of $1,843,250 in aid.
- 26: Declaration from Holy See Press Office Director Joaquin Navarro-Valls in which he announces that the Holy See has accepted the invitation to participate in the Inter-religious Congress that will take place in Astana, Kazakistan September 23-24. The Holy See Delegation will be headed by Cardinal Jozef Tomko, prefect emeritus of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.
- 29: Letter by Cardinal Angelo Sodano, secretary of State, to Bishop Adriano Caprioli, president of the Episcopal Commission of the Italian Episcopal Conference for the Liturgy, on the occasion of the celebration of National Liturgy Week (August 25-29) in Acireale, Italy.
