CARDINAL CASSIDY TO ADDRESS POLISH JUBILEE COMMITTEE

VATICAN CITY, APR 9, 1999 (VIS) - Cardinal Edward Idris Cassidy, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, today addresses the meeting in Warsaw, Poland, organized by the Polish National Committee for the Celebration of the Great Jubilee Year 2000. His topic is: "'One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism'. Christians and the Jubilee of the One Redeemer."

- Sunday, 25: Fourth Sunday of Easter. Ordination of deacons of the Diocese of Rome, in St. Peter's Basilica at 9 a.m.

MAY

- Sunday, 2: Fifth Sunday of Easter. Beatification of Servant of God Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, in St. Peter's Square at 9:30 a.m. followed by "Regina Coeli" in St. John Lateran Square at midday.

- Friday, 7: Apostolic trip to Romania, return to Rome on May 9.

- Sunday, 16: Seventh Sunday of Easter. Mass for the world Charity meeting, in St. Peter's Square at 10 a.m.

- Saturday, 22: Solemnity of Pentecost. Pentecost vigil with the diocese of Rome for the closing of the Citizens' Mission in preparation for the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000, in St. Peter's Square at 6:30 p.m.

- Sunday, 30: Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Solemnity of the Holy Trinity. Pastoral visit to Ancona on the occasion of the millennium of the cathedral.

JUNE

- Thursday, 3: Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. Mass in St. John Lateran Basilica at 7 p.m, followed by procession to St. Mary Major Basilica for Benediction.

- Saturday, 5: Apostolic trip to Poland. Return to Rome on June 17.

- Sunday, 20: Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Dedication of the new church at the Shrine of Divine Love, at 9:30 a.m.

- Tuesday, 29: Solemnity of Peter and Paul, Apostles. Mass and imposition of the pallia in St. Peter's Basilica at 9:30 a.m.
