VATICAN CITY, MAY 7, 2002 (VIS) - Yesterday evening at Rome's Pontifical Salesian University, Archbishop John P. Foley, president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, participated in a round table discussion on "The Church and the Internet" and "Ethics and the Internet," the two documents published by his dicastery this year.
Bishop Pierfranco Pastore, secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, is participating in a continental meeting of Catholic television producers, taking place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from May 6 to 9. Today, the bishop will offer guidelines and practical suggestions for the upcoming creation of "Televida Internacional," a continent-wide Catholic television station.
On May 12, for the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Radio Renascenca, a private national Portuguese radio station owned by the Catholic Church, Bishop Pastore will celebrate Mass and deliver a homily.
