Vatican City, 3 January 2016 (VIS) –
After the Marian prayer, the Pope greeted the pilgrims present and
reiterated his hope for peace and good in the Lord. “In moments of
joy and of sadness, let us trust in Him, our mercy and our hope”.
He also mentioned the commitment we
undertake on the first day of the year, the World Day of Peace:
“overcome indifference and win peace”. “With God's grace, we
can put this into practice”, he said, again encouraging those
present to keep a copy of the Gospel to hand at all times and to read
a paragraph every day “to know Jesus better, to open our heart to
Jesus, and to enable others to know Him better”.
