 - Cardinal Jose Saraiva Martins C.M.F., prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints.

 - Archbishop Stanislaw Rylko, president of the Pontifical Council for the Laity.

 - Archbishop Francois Bacque, apostolic nuncio to the Netherlands.

 - Abdulhafed Gaddur, Libyan ambassador, accompanied by his wife, on a farewell visit.

  On Saturday, June 24, the Holy Father received in separate audiences:

 - Luis Miguel Leitao Ritto, head of the European Commission delegation to the Holy See.

 - His Beatitude Cardinal Ignace Moussa I Daoud, prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.

 - Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, prefect of the Congregation for Bishops.

 - Cardinal Peter Erdo, archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, Hungary.

 - Bishop Michele Castoro of Oria, Italy, accompanied by members of his family.
