- Fr. Lucio Renna O.C., procurator general of the Carmelite Order, as bishop of Avezzano (area 1,700, population 119,790, Catholics 118,020, priests 110, religious 216), Italy. The bishop-elect was born in San Pietro Vernotico, Italy, in 1941 and was ordained a priest in 1966.
