He succeeds Bishop Daniel Labille, whose resignation from the pastoral care of the same diocese the Holy Father accepted, upon having reached the age limit.
- Appointed Msgr. Fortunatus Nwachukwu, nunciature counsellor, as head of protocol at the Secretariat of State.
