Sergio Aparecido Colombo, vicar general of the diocese of Limeira, as auxiliary bishop of Sao Carlos (area 13,317, population 857,000, Catholics 628,000, priests 109, permanent deacons 2, religious 150), Brazil. The bishop-elect was born in Cajobi, Brazil, in 1954, and ordained to the priesthood in 1980.
