Luciano Bergamin C.R.L., superior general of the Lateran Canons Regular in Brazil, as auxiliary of the diocese of Santo Amaro (area 600, population 2,891,000, Catholics 2,400,000, priests 114, religious 228), Brazil. The bishop-elect was born in Loira, Italy, in 1944 and ordained a priest in 1969.
