LANGUAGE GROUPS MEET TODAY

VATICAN CITY, OCT 6, 1999 (VIS) - There was there no general congregation this morning for the Special Assembly for Europe due to the Holy Father's weekly general audience. There were, however, meetings of the various language groups in which each group elected a moderator. Discussion of the synod's theme - "Jesus Christ, Alive in His Church, Source of Hope for Europe" - also continued in the small work groups.

The eighth general congregation is scheduled to take place this afternoon.
