Remember we are in a global crisis mode and the abuse cases are surfacing continuously. I am sure theologians and historians will look upon this visit and be able to see the value of ecumenical relations being strengthened.

The one sore area has been the comments made by Cardinal Kasper; someone I have great reverence for having studied his writings at Theological College. He has inspired me towards Inter Faith Dialogue. As a citizen of the Caribbean Island Trinidad, I am pained to hear third world countries looked down upon from the lips of a Cardinal. My Archdiocese is preparing to hold a Respect for Life Week at the last week in this month and the area of spiritual death is being addressed. This is one death we have experienced in the past (slavery) in great numbers and is still having this done even though Wilberforce has been highlighted as a light of that past.

I look forward to brighter days in our church as we have more to celebrate in the coming weeks.Gale Oxleynoreply@blogger.com
