- Fr. Martin Dada Abejide Olorunmolu, professor of Holy Scripture at the Catholic Institute of West Africa, as bishop of Lokoja (area 24,750, population 1,465,000, Catholics 36,500, priests 38, permanent deacons 4, religious 45), Nigeria. The bishop-elect was born in Ogiri-Kabba, Nigeria, in 1948 and ordained a priest in 1978.
- Fr. Santiago Maria Garcia de la Rasilla Dominguez S.J., superior of the "San Pedro" home in Lima, Peru, as apostolic vicar of Jaen (area 32,572, population 452,000, Catholics 380,000, priests 31, permanent deacons 1, religious 139), Peru. The bishop-elect was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1936 and ordained a priest in 1967.
